I'm so happy to report that all went well at my last appointment with Dr. A. Actually, I saw Dr. Haydon, which was a nice surprise since I hadn't seen him yet during this pregnancy. He's so sweet and I just love him!
Both little ladies were being stubborn and didn't want to cooperate at first. The u/s tech got Dr. H to come in to the room to help her get a shot of the hearts that she wasn't able to get. After a few minutes of ridiculously uncomfortable poking on my stomach with the u/s doppler, they finally got what they needed. We're so thankful that everything looked great and Dr. H said their anatomy is perfect and they're growing great. Phew!!
Baby A was measuring 23 weeks, 5 days and estimated weight was 1 lb 5 oz. Baby B was measuring 24 weeks, 1 day and her estimated weight was 1 lb 6 oz. On the day of the appointment I was 23 weeks 2 days. These girls are ahead of the game! :-)
The same day, I had my monthly tummy check with Dr. D and all was well there, too. He sent me for the Hemoglobin A1C blood work and all came back normal, so the next step is just the standard 2 hour glucose test. (I guess this just recently changed from the 1 hour test they offered previously.) I'm going first thing Monday to do that test and I'm hoping & praying that I don't get diabetes this time around! Oh, here's a nice piece of lovely news...I gained 6 pounds. In ONE month. Holy cow! I'm up 13 pounds total.
Starting at my next appointment, at 27 weeks, Dr. D is going to start doing the Ffn tests that we did with Tyler- the fetalfibronectin test- to determine if I'll go into labor within the next 2 weeks. He also wants to talk about doing a steroid shot between 28-30 weeks for the girls' lungs...in case they arrive early.
That's about it as far as appointments go. I haven't been feeling so great the last couple of weeks. It's been so hard to keep my eyes open throughout the day. I'm going with the idea that it's a combo of: getting up at least 2 times per night to pee, chasing Tyler all day and my body growing not one, but two human beings. I'm exhausted!! My back has been doing a number on me as well. It's sciatica on my left side, lower back. Oh my word, it's painful to just walk sometimes. Not fun! I mentioned it to Dr. D and he said if it gets too bad, he can send me for physical therapy, but I'm hoping I can just deal with it. He said the only cure is delivery. Ugh!
I think that's about it for now. Yay for 24 weeks!
