Golf lessons

For Christmas, Sherri got the boy Scheck cousins some golf lessons through Tiny Tees at the Newport Hyatt. It's a five week series- on Saturday mornings. It's a lot of fun and cute to see the boy cousins play together. Kind of a bummer they separate the ages, so Eddie & Tyler are in the younger group and Bennett, Noah, Ethan and Gretchen (she snuck in there) are in the older group. Still cute, though!

Of course the ball went right in there!
So, Mr. Trapper clearly doesn't have kids. Here's why: He bribed Tyler, "if you hit the ball in the hole, I'll give you a cupcake." Great! Except, he didn't have a cupcake. So, when the lesson was over, Tyler was on a mission, looking for his cupcake. So, what did we do? Took him to Sprinkles to get a cupcake. Problem solved & happy boy!

Teeth!

Miss Delaney got her first tooth on January 19...

...and the very next day, January 20, Miss Audrey's first tooth popped through.

It's been a fun few weeks of teething around here! They each have 2 teeth now.

Yay Daddy!

We are so so so so proud of Daddy! On February 9, he got offered a GREAT job down at the ports of Long Beach. Jason & Eric told Sam that he had a chance of getting in a couple of months ago, so we freshened up his resume and Sam hand delivered it. We were beyond thrilled when he got a call for an interview and to do a practical welding test. There were 2 positions open (which is so incredibly rare. It's super rare for even one position to open up. We're so lucky!) and they narrowed the finalists down to 4. We were on pins & needles for a few days, until he finally got "the" call! He's going to be working directly with Jason, which they're excited about. Shannon & I joke that they're long lost brothers...so much alike, those two! Anyways, Sam leaves the district on Feb 24 and his first day at his new job will be Feb 27.

It's just now starting to settle in our heads that this is real. For the almost 9 years I've known Sam, this is ultimately what he's wanted. It's such an incredible experience for him and it's going to allow us to do so much more than we could have if he stayed with the district. The biggest thing on our list??? MOVE!! So excited!
