We took Tyler to his first visit with Dr. Stephens. He's a growing boy! He weighed in at 7 lbs, 2 ounces (When we left the hospital, he was down to 6 lbs 14 oz) and has already grown over an inch in length. He measured 20 3/4 inches long. Dr. S said he looks great and he's a very healthy baby!
Jaundice-schmaundice :-(
Unfortunately our little Tyler has jaundice. He was doing great in the hospital until the day before we were discharged. The doctors had us go back over the weekend each day to have his heel pricked and it now looks like his levels are getting much better!
On Sunday, the doctor had some phototherapy "paddles" delivered to our house for Tyler to start treatment for the jaundice. These things are a pain in the butt! He looks so cute when he's swaddled up- they make him glow like a little glow worm. They're long plastic paddles that we swaddle up with him in a blanket- one on his back and one on his tummy. Tyler's been a real trooper with them- we can tell he isn't thrilled- they look so uncomfortable. The doctor called just a bit ago with the results from this mornings test and it looks like the jaundice is calming down! We don't have to use the paddles anymore (Thank you, God!!) and they want us to go back on Friday for another blood check.
